Rachin Ravindra took four wickets to dismantle the chase. This result has officially ended Sri Lanka’s hopes for the next stage.
Ranji Trophy Final, Day 2 Update
Day 2 of Ranji Trophy was dominated by Jammu & Kashmir batters as then ended the day at a massive 527/6. Shubham Pundir converted his overnight score into a magnificent 121. Paras Dogra (70), Kanhaiya Wadhawan (70), and Abdul Samad (61) kept the Karnataka bowlers at bay as Sahil Lotra remained unbeaten on 57 at stumps.
Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers for Karnataka with three wickets to his name while others struggled to get a single breakthrough.
Dogra says, “all settled” after headbutt controversey
Ranji Final, Day 2 was marked by a headbutt by Jammu & Kashmir captain Paras Dogra that saw the two sides getting involved in a heated exchange. Dogra, who gave a head-butt to Karnataka player KV Aneesh that led to the involvement of Karnataka senior players as well, said, “It was just in a little heat of the moment, not a big thing.”
Dogra said after the day’s play. “Yeah, it is all settled now. […] It was momentary. We started talking and chatting after that so it’s all well.” However, Dogra’s apology was supposedly rejected by the Karnataka player.
Amelia Kerr smashes T20I ton on captaincy debut
In the first T20I of their series in Hamilton yesterday, New Zealand Women secured a comprehensive 92-run victory over Zimbabwe Women. The match was defined by a historic 101* off 51 New Zealand’s new captain, Amelia Kerr, who became the first woman to score a T20I century on her captaincy debut. Chasing a daunting 203, Zimbabwe lost early wickets with only Beloved Biza contributing with a solid 49.
