India Women squad for ODI series in Australia announced: Report

Indian women’s cricket team for the three-match ODI series against Australia Down Under has been announced. The ODI series will be played between the ongoing T20I series and the one-off Test match in the multi-format, points-based tour.

Pratika Rawal added to the ODI squad

Pratika Rawal, who has been out of action since October 26, has been added to the squad. Rawal hurt her knee and ankle during fielding in the ODI World Cup match against Bangladesh in Navi Mumbai. A BCCI statement released on Tuesday said Rawal had “completed her rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence and has fully recovered from her ankle injury”.

Rawal, since her ODI debut in December 2024 has scored 1110 runs at an average of 50.45 and strike rate of 82.83 in 23 innings. At the top of the batting order, she made huge impact by giving India solid start when needed. She has already scored two centuries and seven half-centuries.

The ODI squad also has Shafali Verma who replaced injured Rawal during the World Cup and played a match winning knock in the final against South Africa. In the historic final that saw India Women lifting the ODI World Cup for the first time, Shafali won the Player-of-the-match award for her 78-ball 87 and two wickets.

The ODI matches will be played on Febryary 24, 27, and March 1 before the one-off match starting on March 6.
