ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

In a one-sided affair in Colombo, India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs and cemented their spot in the Super 8 stage. Chasing 176, Pakistan struggled to go beyond 100. They were eventually bundled out for 114, as Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy took two wickets each. Earlier Ishan Kishan scored 77 off 40 to lead the Indian innings.

The USA captain Monank Patel and Sanjay Krishnamurthi smashed blistering half-centuries to take their total to a massive 199/4, their highest-ever total in T20 World Cup history. In reply, Namibia fought hard but managed to score 168/6 in their 20 overs and lost the match by 31 runs.

In the match between West Indies and Nepal, West Indies continued their dominant form to become the first team from Group C to qualify for the Super 8s. Nepal managed only 133/8 in their 20 overs as Dipendra Singh Airee was the lone fighter with a steady 58 off 47 balls. The target proved to be far too small for the West Indies as they chased it down comfortably losing only one wicket.

Ranji Semi-final Updates: Day 1

In the Ranji semi-final between Karnataka and Uttarakhand, after Mayank Agarwal fell early for 18, KL Rahul and captain Devdutt Padikkal forged a massive 278-run partnership for the second wicket. KL Rahul 141 off 211 balls, whereas Padikkal remained unbeaten at the end of Day 1 with a brilliant 148*. Uttarakhand opted to field first and Aditya Rawat was their only successful bowler of the day with two wickets to his name.

In the other semi-final, Sudip Kumar Gharami once again showed calm and composure to score a patient and unbeaten 136*. He stabilized the innings after the Jammu and Kashmir pace attack removed the Bengal openers Abhimanyu Easwaran (49) and Sudip Chatterjee (0) early. Auqib Nabi and Sunil Kumar bowled with great discipline, taking two wickets each.

India Women tour of Australia

In the 1st T20I, India Women defeated Australia by 21 runs (DLS) after rain halted play in Sydney. India bowlers, led by Arundhati Reddy (4/22), bundled Australia out for 133. During the chase, Indian openers raced to 50/1 in just 5.1 overs to stay well ahead of the par score and won the first match of the 3-match T20I series.

Amelia Kerr becomes new New Zealand team captain

Allrounder Amelia Kerr has been appointed New Zealand Women’s cricket team captain across all formats. Following Sophie Divine’s retirement from ODIs after the 2025 World Cup and her decision to quit the T20I captaincy, the New Zealand women’s cricket team is ready to enter a new era under Kerr. Her first assignment will the ODI and T20I series at home later this month against Zimbabwe.
