T20 World Cup 2026: USA stun Netherlands in Chennai, won by 93 runs

t20 World Cup 2026: USA crushed the Netherlands by 93 runs in the 21st match of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Dutch won the toss and thought bowling first was a good idea, but USA made them regret it. USA racked up 196 runs for 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Then, when it was the Netherlands’ turn to bat, their chase fell apart fast and they got bowled out for just 103 runs in 15.5 overs.

Chasing 197, Michael Levitt and Max O’Dowd opened for the Netherlands, but neither stuck around. Levitt managed only 3, O’Dowd got 13, and after that, the wickets just kept tumbling. Not a single Dutch batter crossed 25 runs. Bas de Leede was the top-scorer with 23 off 17 balls (one four, one six), and captain Scott Edwards tried to steady things with 20 off 14 balls, hitting two boundaries. Honestly, the Netherlands’ batting just didn’t show up, and that’s really why they lost.

On the bowling side, Harmeet Singh was on fire for the USA, grabbing 4 wickets for just 21 runs in his 4 overs. Shadley van Schalkwyk picked up 3, Mohammad Mohsin took 2, and Nostush Kenjige chipped in with 1.

Earlier, USA’s captain Monank Patel set the tone with 36 runs. Saiteeja Mukkalla was the star, smashing 79 off 51 balls with five fours and four sixes in that knock. Shubham Ranjane added a quick 48 from just 23 balls, including three fours and two sixes. For the Netherlands, Bas de Leede did his best with the ball, taking 3 wickets, but it just wasn’t enough.
