T20 World Cup 2026: India defeat Namibia by 93 runs, Ishan-Hardik shines with the bat

India pulled off a big win over Namibia in the T20 World Cup 2026. After beating both the USA and Namibia, the Suryakumar Yadav-led side basically through to the Super 8. Batting first, India smashed 209 runs in 20 overs. Namibia just couldn’t keep up as they folded for 116. Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya were at the front and center in this one. Ishan hammered 61 off just 24 balls, while Pandya blasted 52 off 28 and also grabbed two wickets.

Suryakumar Yadav lost the toss again, so India had to bat first. Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan came out swinging. Sanju wasted no time, hitting three sixes and a four, but he was out for 22. Ishan, though, was on fire. He hit his half-century in just 20 balls and ended up with 61 from 24. Tilak Verma added 25, but Suryakumar Yadav, the captain, couldn’t get going as he made 12 from 13. Hardik Pandya kept the momentum going, racing to a half-century in 27 balls, but he got out right after reaching 52.

India’s middle order didn’t do much. Rinku Singh got just one run, Axar Patel was gone first ball while Shivam Dube made 23 but never really got comfortable. Namibia’s captain, Gerhard Erasmus, did the major damage with the ball, taking four wickets.

Varun Chakravarthy stole the show while bowling. He took three wickets for only seven runs in just two overs. Axar Patel and Pandya picked up two wickets each, and Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, and Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with one apiece. With this win, India sits at the top of Group A and is all but confirmed for the Super 8s. Next, a high-stake match against Pakistan awaits for India on February 15th. The team heads to Colombo for that one.
