T20 World Cup 2026: Italy has grabbed their first-ever win in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. It is a huge deal as it is their debut at any ICC event. The european side actually lost their first match to Scotland, but this time, against Nepal, they turned things around with a big time. In this clash, the heroes are no other than the Mosca brothers.

The match took place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Italy won the toss and put Nepal in to bat first. Nepal managed just 123 runs before getting bowled out in 19.3 overs. Italy’s response was lightning and they chased it down in a flash, 124 runs in only 12.4 overs.
From the start, the Mosca brothers came out swinging. They smashed 50 runs together just in the first four overs. Even after the power play, they kept things steady with no wickets lost, no panic, just smart cricket. Slowly but surely, they dragged Italy closer to the finish line. Justin Mosca ended up with 60 runs off 44 balls, five boundaries and three sixes, not out. His brother Anthony was even more explosive scoring 62 off 32 balls, with six sixes and three fours. Both were unbeaten and both unstoppable.

On the other side, Nepal, who looked pretty strong against England in their first match, against Italy, things just fell apart. Their middle-order totally let them down. Arif Sheikh tried to hold things together with 27 off 24, while captain Rohit Paudel chipped in with 23 off 13. Asif Sheikh managed 20 and Karan KC added 18. But overall, Nepal’s batting just didn’t show up.
Italy’s bowlers deserve a ton of credit too. Krishan Kalugamez led the way, taking 3 wickets for 18 runs in his 4 overs. Ben Manenti grabbed 2 for just 9, also in 4 overs. Ali Hasan, JJ Smuts, and Jaspreet Singh picked up a wicket each for 11 runs. All in all, it was a complete performance from Italy and a night they’ll never forget.
