T20 World Cup 2026: New Zealand absolutely steamrolled the UAE in their Group D clash at the T20 World Cup 2026. Chasing 174, they barely broke a sweat, wrapping up the win with 28 balls left. Tim Seifert and Finn Allen tore into the bowlers right from the start of their innings. Seifert smashed an unbeaten 89 off just 42 balls which had 12 fours, 3 sixes and showered pure carnage. Allen wasn’t far behind, hammering 84 not out from 50 deliveries, with five sixes and five fours of his own.

Finn Allen-Tim Seifert annihilate UAE

New Zealand cruised to 175 without losing a single wicket, finishing it off in just 15.2 overs. That’s a ten-wicket win that depicted total dominance. Earlier, the UAE had chosen to bat after winning the toss, but things didn’t go smoothly. Aryansh Sharma fell early at just 12 runs. But then captain Mohammad Wasim and Aalishan Sarafu dug in, putting together a strong 107-run stand for the second wicket. Sarafu eventually departed for 55 (47 balls), having hit a couple of sixes and five boundaries. Wasim kept the runs coming, adding a 40-run partnership with Mayank Kumar for the fourth wicket.

Mayank chipped in with a quick 21 off 12 balls before getting out. Wasim stuck around till the end, staying unbeaten on 66 from 45, with three sixes and four fours. UAE finished at 173 for 6. New Zealand’s bowlers kept things in check from the start. Matt Henry picked up two wickets, while Jacob Duffy, Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Santner, and Glenn Phillips took one apiece. There was no surprise that Tim Seifert walked away with the Player of the Match award.
