Uncapped duo of Kashvee Gautam and Anushka Sharma have been included in India Women’s 15-member squad for the five-match T20Is against South Africa Women. Vaishnavi Sharma, Sneh Rana, G Kamalini and Amanjot Kaur are among those who missed out from the squad that faced Australia recently.
Fast bowler Kashvee has played one Test and six ODIs for India already, while Anushka is yet to play for India. Anushka has, however, played seven matches in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) for Gujarat Giants (GG), having scored 177 runs at 25.28 to go with a strike rate of 129.19. She was also part of the India A squad that won the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 recently.
Kashvee, who also plays for GG has three wickets for India so far, while in the WPL, she has 19 wickets at an economy rate of under eight. Other than them, Uma Chetry, who has played seven T20Is for India, is the only other inclusion in the side.
The series against South Africa is seen as a build-up for the T20 World Cup, which will be played in June-July this year. The series will get underway from April 17 onwards in Johannesburg and will reach its conclusion on April 27 in Benoni.
