Islamabad-Peshwar PSL clash washed out due to rain
Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi had to split the points after rain washed out their PSL 2026 match in Lahore on Tuesday. Not a single ball was bowled at the Gaddafi Stadium as the outfield was too wet, and rain kept pouring right when the toss was supposed to happen.
Later in the evening, the rain finally stopped around 7:30 pm, and groundstaff scrambled to clear the puddles. Still, they couldn’t get the field ready before the official cut-off, not even for a shortened five-over game.
So, both teams picked up a point. Islamabad finally got on the board and jumped to sixth place, while Peshawar moved up to second with three points. Karachi Kings are still at the top with four.
“We played as a team tonight: Cooper Connolly”

Cooper Connolly played a magnificent unbeaten half-century innings, enabling Punjab Kings to chase down the target against Gujarat Titans by scoring 165 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 19.1 overs. After the match he said, “No, I didn’t think about that coming in. I was just looking forward to getting the experience of playing with some world class players. And, yeah, to put on a show tonight was nice. But yeah, it’s a team performance, we played as a team tonight, and that’s all we speak about. Yeah, I think it’s just a bit of a refresh. I had a couple of weeks at home, just a refresh and reset, spend some time with family and friends. And that was probably the point where I changed, and it was just like, yeah, okay, I’m just gonna reset, and I’m gonna go into the IPL fresh. (On his six-hitting) Yeah, I think it’s slightly different for me. I’m just more of a tempo player. I like to sort of get a feel of the flow in my hands. I don’t try to hit too many big sixes. But yeah, working with Ricky has been great.”
