Harshit Rana to miss major part of IPL 2026

Harshit Rana is set to miss a major part of IPL 2026 following the knee surgery he underwent in February. As per ESPNcricinfo, Rana has been going through his rehab with no confirmation for his return to international cricket given by the BCCI medical team. If he misses the entire IPL, this will be the second major tournament he misses in a row after missing the T20 World Cup.

After delivering just one over in the warm-up game, Rana suffered a ligament strain in his right knee during the World Cup. He was replaced by Mohammed Siraj who played just one match, India’s opening game against USA. Meanwhile, KKR will also be without left-arm quick Mustafizur Rahman for the IPL. However, they brought in Blessing Muzarabani as a replacement last week.

BCB warns Bangladesh government against interfering in internal matters

The Bangladesh Cricket Board warned the Bangladesh government to stop interfering in board matters. This happened after an investigation committee was formed by the sports ministry to look into allegations of malpractice during last year’s BCB elections. The sports ministry formed a five-member body and gave it 15 working days from March 11 to look into the allegations.

The BCB released a statement saying, “In this context, the matter has been informally referenced in discussions with senior representatives of the ICC leadership. It was indicated that developments which could be interpreted as interference in the affairs of a democratically elected cricket board may raise governance concerns within the international cricket framework.”

It added, “Given the potential implications for Bangladesh cricket at the international level, the BCB considers it important to address this matter with due care and transparency. Before initiating any formal communication or proceedings with the ICC, the BCB believes it is appropriate to engage directly with the National Sports Council to seek clarification regarding the context, intent, and possible implications of the gazette.”

James Foster becomes the new CSK fielding coach

James Foster has been appointed fielding coach at Chennai Super Kings ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026. Foster who previously worked for KKR as a fielding coach and assistance coach will be now working with the CSK head coach Stephen Fleming, batting coach Micheal Hussey, and bowling coach Eric Simons.

Five-time IPL champions CSK will begin their IPL 2026 campaign on March 30 against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati. They then play Punjab Kings (Apr 3) at home, followed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Apr 5) away and Delhi Capitals (Apr 11) at home again. In IPL 2025 CSK had a heartbreaking campaign that ended with only four wins in 14 outings.
