West Indies women squad announced for series against Australia
West Indies kept the same squad for the upcoming home T20I series against Australia despite a 2-0 loss to Sri Lanka. “We’re really excited about the opportunity to play the number one ranked ODI and T20 team in the world,” head coach Shane Deitz said. “It’s just before the World Cup, so it’s a great opportunity to see where we are in our preparation. Playing against the best team in the world, we can see where our deficiencies are and where things are working well as we look forward to the tournament in June in England.”
The squad, led by Hayley Matthews, will take on the mighty Aussies at the Arnos Vale Cricket Ground in Kingstown for all three games. The first T20I is scheduled for March 19 followed by the next two on March 21 and 23. The teams will also play a three-match ODI series at Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Karnataka government to inspect Chinnaswamy Stadium ahead of IPL
The Karnataka government appointed an expert committee to inspect the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 13 before giving its final approval to the venue to host the IPL 2026 matches. Meanwhile the Karnataka State Cricket Association has been renovating the stadium as part of the short-term overhaul recommended by the Justice D’Cunha Committee.
The suggestions came following the tragic stampede that led to 11 deaths during the celebrations of Royal Challengers Bangalore after winning their first IPL trophy last year. Earlier this month, KSCA confirmed RCB’s return to their home venue after going through weeks of negotiations with all stakeholders, including the state government.
if England do win the World Cup ahead of the Hundred, it will have a huge change: Rangarajan
Malolan Rangarajan, the assistant coach for London Spirit Women spoke to ESPNCricinfo about the upcoming women’s hundred. He discussed on what the Women’s T20 World Cup in England, which precedes the Hundred under private equity ownership, could do for the franchise competition. Rangarajan who was with the Royal Challengers Bangalore during their WPL triumph, believes that the World Cup win changed the landscape of women’s cricket in India.
Rangarajan explained, ” You needed a catalyst to bring in that change, and I keep saying that every time I talk about it, I get goosebumps.” He added, “I know it’s culturally very different here, but sure if England go on to – although I want India to win the World Cup – but if England do win the World Cup here and then it’s followed by the Hundred, it will have a huge change. You will have a lot more girls and parents encouraging them, ‘Come watch the game!’ So, I’m really excited for what’s ahead.”
