India beat West Indies & reached the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2026

The T20 World Cup 2026 is really heating up and India is in the semi-finals now, thanks to a big 5-wicket win over the West Indies on Sunday. Sanju Samson absolutely stole the show as he hammered 97 runs off just 50 balls and didn’t even get out. No surprise, he grabbed the Player of the Match award for that knock.

So, the semi-final spots are all locked in. India’s up against England on March 5th at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It’s a massive game and whoever wins goes straight to the final. So the pressure’s on for both sides.

India looked sharp in the group stage. They kicked things off by beating the United States, then rolled past Namibia, Pakistan, and the Netherlands to reach the Super 8. But things got rough for a bit. South Africa handed India a heavy 76-run defeat in their first Super 8 match, and that really put them on the back foot. Still, India pulled themselves together, beat Zimbabwe, and then took down the West Indies to punch their ticket to the semis.

Alyssa Healy played her last ODI as Australia Women dominated India Women

Australia’s women’s team wrapped up a 3-0 sweep against India on Sunday, crushing them by 185 runs in the last ODI. Alyssa Healy absolutely stole the show with a huge 158, her final knock in this format, while Beth Mooney stayed unbeaten on 106. Australia piled up a massive 409 for 7 after India put them in to bat. Chasing 410, India never really got going and folded for 224 in 45.1 overs. Alana King grabbed four wickets, Georgia Wareham picked up two, and that was that and series was done and dusted.

For Healy, 35, this was her last ODI and she definitely signed off in style. Her career numbers is quite Impressive as she scored 3,777 runs from 126 ODIs, with eight centuries and 19 fifties. She’s got one more international to go, the pink-ball Test in Perth against India. The match is starting on March 6, before she hangs up her boots.

Lungi Ngidi became South Africa’s most successful T20I bowler

The 51st match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 took place on Sunday, March 1 in Delhi with Zimbabwe facing off against South Africa. South Africa came out on top, winning by five wickets. Lungi Ngidi really stood out with his bowling. Not only did he deliver a stellar performance, he also reached a big milestone. Ngidi is now South Africa’s leading wicket-taker in T20 International cricket. Before him, Tabraiz Shamsi held the record with 89 wickets. But in that clash, when Ngidi got Ryan Burl out, he climbed to 90 wickets and took the top spot for himself.
