BCB bans Manjurul Islam over complaint made by Jahanara Alam
The BCB has imposed a ban on former fast bowler Manjurul Islam from all activities under its jurisdiction. This action was taken after the board’s independent inquiry committee completed an investigation determining that some of his actions “fell within the definition of misconduct and harassment”.
The inquiry was set up after former Bangladesh women’s captain Jahanara Alam had lodged an official complaint against Manjurul over an incident during the 2022 Women’s ODI World Cup, where he was the team’s chief selector and manager. The committee’s findings led to the BCB’s decision to enforce the ban, highlighting its commitment to maintaining discipline and ethical conduct within its ranks.
India are beatable: David Miller
David Miller said that South Africa proved that the defending champions are beatable after the Proteas broke India’s winning streak of 12 games at a stretch.
“They are beatable.” David Miller, South Africa’s most experienced batter and top-scorer of the match said after the match, “India come with an incredible team. For us, in a tournament like this, it’s about making sure that we do simple things [right] and get the job done. We’re a mature team. A lot of guys have played together and that goes a long way under pressure. It’s just staying in your lane, making sure that you get the job done and keep wanting more.”
