ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026

The opening fixture of T20 World Cup Super Eight between New Zealand and Pakistan was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain. Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat. However, the light drizzle turned into a heavy downpour leading to the cancellation of the match.

New Zealand and Pakistan earned a point each. New Zealand will face their next against Sri Lanka on February 25. Pakistan will take on England on February 24.

India Women seal a historic series win Down Under

India Women defeated Australia Women by 17 runs at the Adelaide Oval in the final and third T20I against Australia. The historic victory secured a 2-1 series win for India, making their first T20I series triumph Down Under since 2016.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Smriti Mandhana (82 off 55) and Jemimah Rodrigues (59 off 46) stitched together 121 for the second wicket that set the foundation for Indian team. India scored 176/6. In response, Australia had a shaky start. Despite a 18-run first over, they quickly collapsed to 32/3 within the first four overs. Eventually, in 20 overs Australia could manage to score 159/9 despite a 57-run knock from Ashleigh Gardner.

BCCI takes initiative for blind cricket in India

The BCCI has announced “structured support” for the men’s and women’s teams of Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI). BCCI intends to provide international exposure, home series support and venue access as part of the initiative.

BCCI president Mithun Manhas said, “The achievements of India’s visually impaired cricketers are a source of immense pride for the cricketing fraternity. Through this support framework, the BCCI aims to strengthen opportunities, infrastructure and exposure for these athletes.” He added,  “Inclusive growth remains central to our vision for the game. We hope this support will further empower the teams to pursue excellence with confidence and inspire many more to take up the sport. The BCCI remains committed to playing its part in ensuring that cricket continues to be a game for all.”
