Dravid-Kumble stands unveiled at Chinnaswamy

On Sunday, the Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble Ends were officially unveiled at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore ahead of the RCB vs CSK match. The old BEML end got the new name after Dravid while the pavilion end was renamed after Kumble. The Karnataka State Cricket Association president and long-time teammate of the two legends, Venkatesh Prasad and vice-president Sujith Somasundar were present at the ceremony along with other officials.

“It’s been a second home to me. It’s been a place where we’ve probably spent more time than we have in our houses. But it’s also a place that has truly given me everything I am today. I can never be grateful enough for what the KSCA and this great, iconic ground have given me in my life.” Rahul Dravid said.

Ben Stokes highlights the opportunity that England domestic season provides

England Test captain Ben Stokes believes that the ongoing domestic season is a great opportunity for players awaiting the national team call-up. He highlighted how the players come through the system and spoke about the “unquestionable” talent that England cricket can boast of. “I think it’s a great opportunity for a lot of people around the country,” Stokes said. “Obviously, we had the Lions in Australia at the same time as we were, so you look at some of the players that are coming through that system at the moment.”

He continued, “The first six or seven weeks of Championship cricket, I think it’s going to be a very big one and people should use that as an opportunity to push their case as far forward as they possibly can and I hope they’re giving themselves the best chance of coming up for selection when we get together to do that.” Meanwhile, Stokes is recovering from the broken cheekbone that he sustained in the nets back in February.

I will be the last person to go: Aminul Islam Bulbul

Bangladesh Cricket Board is going through a turmoil amidst the ongoing investigation for controversial elections held last year. While on Saturday multiple BCB directors resigned following a meeting in Dhaka, the chairman Aminul Islam Bulbul decided to continue his role. As per media reports, his tenure could end soon with former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal emerging as the leading contender to replace Bulbul.

Aminul told Jamuna TV, “I will sit in my chair. What else can I do? I will be the last person to go. I have a very dedicated and honest team. I want to serve Bangladesh cricket with them.” He further added, “We could not work with freedom for one day as an external force was always disturbing us and still doing that. You should support us and you know who I am meaning because without support we cannot move forward. Our cricket is stagnant and I have said a lot of times that an external force is disturbing us and because of that the pace of our cricket has slowed down.”
