BCB extends captaincy tenures of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Litton Das
The Bangladesh Cricket Board extended the captaincy tenure of Mehidy Hasan Miraz until the 2027 ODI World Cup and Litton Das until the 2028 T20 World Cup. Litton’s term was earlier until the 2026 T20 World Cup and Mehidy was appointed last year as the ODI captain of Bangladesh. According to Nazmul Abedeen, the board wanted to give more time and opportunities to the captains to build their teams.
“Since our T20 captain’s tenure ended with the 2026 T20 World Cup, the current T20 captain and vice-captain will continue until the next T20 World Cup in 2028. At the same time, our ODI captain’s tenure is also nearing its end. So, we feel it is very important that the captains can work uninterrupted and follow a long-term vision.”
Yuvraj Singh impressed with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s style
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continues to impress with his batting style at a very young age. He first caught attention at just 13 when Rajasthan Royals secured his service for a massive 1.1 crore ahead of IPL 2025. Speaking of his rapid rise, Yuvraj Singh said on a podcast that he was particularly impressed by Sooryavanshi’s bat speed.
“Look at the current players coming up in T20 cricket. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is doing very well. Vaibhav has amazing bat speed. His bat speed is better than mine. I have seen very few people with such bat speed.” Former India batter added, “I feel at a young age, he has got a lot of skills. Obviously, the more matches he plays, with failure and success, he will become a better batter.”
Ashwin questions CSK’s decisions
Ravichandran Ashwin, former CSK legend questioned the current team management decisions after Chennai faced back-to-back defeats in IPL 2026. Ashwin remarked that they missed some important names despite having the second-highest purse at the auction. He also questioned the underutilisation of uncapped players like Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer.
“CSK played Prashant Veer, and did not give him even one over. Remember, during the mini auction, when there were options like David Miler, Jason Holder, Lungi Ngidi, Cooper Connolly. There were so many such options that you needed, even then you got two young players. I give a thumbs up for that, but they should be given a chance, right?”, Ashwin questioned in his YouTube channel.
