T20 World Cup 2026: Pakistan faced the USA in the 12th match of the T20 World Cup and walked away with a 32-run win. They batted first and put up 190 runs, losing 9 wickets in their 20 overs. The USA gave chase but could only reach 158 for 8 by the end of their innings. This is the second win for Pakistan in this tournament, while the USA have lost both their matches. With this win, Pakistan also got their payback for that stinging defeat the USA handed them two years back. In the T20 World Cup 2024, USA had managed to beat them.

The real spark for Pakistan came from opener Sahibzada Farhan. He smashed 73 runs off just 41 balls with six boundaries and five towering sixes. Babar Azam, batting lower down at number four, chipped in with 46 from 32 balls, including four fours and a six. Shadab Khan kept the momentum going with a blistering 30 off only 12 balls. After that, nobody else really got going. To be more precise, no one else even made it to double figures. On the bowling side for the USA, Shadley van Schalkwyk was outstanding again. He grabbed four wickets for just 25 runs in his four overs. Saurabh Netravalkar, Mohammad Mohsin and Harmeet Singh chipped in with a wicket apiece.
The USA got off to a decent start chasing that big target. Andries Goss and Shayan Jahangir put on 42 runs for the first wicket. But once that stand was broken, wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals. Shubham Ranjane was the only one to really settle in, hammering 51 off 30 balls. Jahangir just missed out on a half-century, making 49 from 34 balls. Andries Gaus added 13 and Milind Kumar made 29. For Pakistan, Usman Tariq led the attack, snaring three wickets.

Looking back at their earlier matches, the USA gave India a real scare in their opener. At one stage, they had India on the ropes, but Suryakumar Yadav’s gritty knock pulled his team out of trouble. As for Pakistan, their first match was against the Netherlands was quite tough. That one was almost gone, but Pakistan pulled off a late comeback after the Netherlands slipped up in the final overs.
