T20 World Cup 2026: Nepal ended its T20 World Cup 2026 campaign with a resounding victory, while Scotland’s campaign ended with a defeat. On Tuesday, Nepal defeated Scotland by seven wickets in the dead rubber which took place at Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai. Scotland lost the toss and ended up batting first. They put up 170 runs in their 20 overs. Nepal chased it down, reaching 171 in 19.2 overs and grabbing the win.

This win wrapped up Nepal’s tournament on a high. The chase was all about Dipendra Singh Airee. He stayed unbeaten on 50 from just 23 balls, smashing four fours and three sixes. Gulshan Jha backed him up perfectly, and together they put on 73 runs in only 37 balls. Gulshan chipped in with 24 off 17.

The openers, Kusal Bhurtel and Asif Sheikh, set things up nicely. They stuck together for a 74-run opening stand. Kusal hammered 43 from 35 balls with four sixes and a four, while Asif added 33 off 27. Captain Rohit Paudel added 16 more.

Nepal didn’t just shine with the bat as their bowlers and fielders were on point. Sompal Kami led the bowling attack, picking up three wickets for just 25 runs in his four overs. Nandan Yadav grabbed two, and both Rohit and Kusal took one each. The fielding was sharp all around.

For Scotland, Michael Jones lit up their innings with a quick 71 from 45 balls, hitting eight boundaries and three sixes. George Munsey scored 27, and Brendon McCullough added 25. On the bowling side, Michael Lisk was the standout, taking three wickets. But in the end, Nepal just had too much firepower.
