T20 World Cup 2026: The T20 World Cup 2026 continues to deliver thrilling matches and in the eighth match of the tournament today, Zimbabwe put on a dominant performance against Oman. Zimbabwe defeated Oman by 8 wickets, starting their campaign with a resounding victory. Oman, batting first, were bowled out for just 103 runs in 19.5 overs. In reply, Zimbabwe chased down the target in the 14th over, losing only two wickets.

In this clash, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl in this Group B match of the T20 World Cup. Batting first, Oman had a poor start, suffering early setbacks as Zimbabwe struck five quick wickets. Sufyan Mahmood and Vinayak Shukla added 42 runs to steady the innings. Shukla was dismissed for 28. However, Oman managed to cross the 100-run mark.

For Zimbabwe, Ngarwa, Muzarabani, and Evans took three wickets each, while Sikandar Raza took one. Thanks to a superb bowling performance, Zimbabwe bowled out Oman for 103 runs in 19.5 overs.

Chasing a low target, Zimbabwe got off to a good start. Bennett and Tadiwanashe Marumani added 30 runs for the first wicket. Marumani made 21 runs off 11 balls, hitting five fours, before being dismissed by Sufyan Mahmud. In the same over, Sufyan dismissed Dion Myers for a duck. After two consecutive blows, Bennett, along with Brendan Taylor, steadied the innings.

These two batters added 68 runs before Taylor retired hurt. Although Bennett stayed until the end, he couldn’t reach his half-century. Captain Sikandar Raza ended the match by hitting the winning boundary. Bennett remained unbeaten on 48 runs off 36 balls, hitting seven fours. Sufyan Mahmud took both the wickets for Oman.
