With the wicket of Tilak Varma, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner became the third-highest wicket-taker in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. He achieved this feat against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium on March 29 (Sunday). Narine has been with the franchise since 2012 and is also the franchise’s leading wicket-taker as well. Before this game, he was the joint third-highest wicket-taker in IPL, level with Piyush Chawla, and now has overtaken the leg-spinner.

In the game against MI, Narine struggled to get going with the ball, finishing with 1/30 in his three overs. It was a day to forget for him and KKR as MI went on to chase 221 with six wickets and five balls to spare.
