Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Rohit Sharma was in excellent form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 29 (Sunday) at the Wankhede Stadium. He got to his half-century off just 23 deliveries, his fastest ever in IPL, and in doing so, he also became just the fourth batter to hit 50 50-plus scores in the tournament.

He was eventually dismissed for 78 off just 38 deliveries, with six fours and as many sixes punctuating his innings. He put on 148 for the first wicket in 11.5 overs with Ryan Rickelton, who also scored a fifty in quick time. His innings came to an end thanks to a superb catch by Anukul Roy in the deep.
Rohit is also the second-highest run-getter in IPL history with over 7,000 runs to his name.
Thanks to Rohit and the opening wicket stand, MI are well on course to chasing down 221 with ease. Earlier, KKR scored 220/4 thanks to fifties from Ajinkya Rahane (67) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (51) after they were asked to bat first.
