The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is set to kick off from March 28 (Saturday) with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) set to take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first match of the tournament at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Ahead of the season, there have been plenty of injury concerns for almost all the franchises, which is not ideal, but it is something they have to deal with and overcome.

Pat Cummins – Will miss initial stages due to back injury

Josh Hazlewood – Will miss initial stages due to hamstring injury
Yash Dayal – Ruled out of IPL due to personal reasons
Nuwan Thushara – Ruled out of the season after being denied NOC by SLC
Rajasthan Royals
Sam Curran – Ruled out of entire season due to groin injury; Replacement: Dasun Shanaka
Punjab Kings
Lockie Ferguson – Will miss initial stages due to personal reasons
Mumbai Indians
Atharva Ankolekar – Ruled out of entire season due to knee injury
Lucknow Super Giants
Josh Inglis – Will miss initial stages due to personal reasons
Delhi Capitals
Mitchell Starc – Will miss initial stages as part of workload management
Ben Duckett – Opts out of IPL 2026 to focus on his international career with England
Chennai Super Kings
Nathan Ellis – Ruled out of entire season due to hamstring injury; Replacement: Spencer Johnson
