AUS W vs IND W: Australia Women hold edge as India failed to show fight on Day 2

AUS W vs IND W: India Women team are in tatters in Perth, as by the end of day two, India’s second innings looked utterly shaky. They’ve put up just 105 runs and already lost six wickets. Sneh Rana is out there with Pratika Rawal, who’s fighting hard on 43. India still needs 20 more runs just to make Australia bat again. For context, Australia scored 323 in their first innings.

Australia started day two at 96 for 3. Then Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland piled on the pressure with a massive 128-run partnership. Perry chipped in with 76, and Sutherland smashed her fourth Test century, finishing with 129. After losing their fifth wicket at 240, Australia’s lower order didn’t stick around and the rest fell for 93 more runs.

India’s second innings couldn’t have started worse. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma both went back to the pavilion inside the first two overs. Jemimah Rodrigues, who looked solid in the first innings, didn’t last long this time and got out for 14. Even the captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, only scraped together 11.

Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh couldn’t steady things either, but Pratika Rawal is still hanging in there. India’s task on day three is clear: survive and get those 20 runs to dodge an innings defeat. One thing’s for sure, Annabel Sutherland is having a match to remember. She’s not just scored a ton, she has already taken six wickets, too. By the end of the day, the India team’s position has significantly weakened.

Brief Scores:

Australia Women- 323 all out (90.4 overs)
India Women- 198 & 105 – 6 (29.0 overs)
