The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) just dropped the schedule for Afghanistan’s tour of India (IND vs AFG), set for June. Afghanistan comes in for one Test match, then sticks around for a three-match ODI series. The Test runs from June 6 to 10 in New Chandigarh, with play starting at 9:30 AM IST each day. After that, it’s all about the ODIs, and yes, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back in action. This series matters a lot for both sides, especially with big international fixtures on the horizon.
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia put it simply: Afghanistan plays a Test in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10, 2026, then it’s on to the ODIs. Worth noting, the Test won’t count toward the World Test Championship. But with the 2027 ODI World Cup coming up, everyone’s eyeing 50-over cricket right now, which explains the three ODIs on the schedule. The ODI series starts June 14 in Dharamsala, moves to Lucknow on June 17, and wraps up in Chennai on June 20. All those games kick off at 1:30 PM IST.
Here’s the schedule:
Test match: New Chandigarh, June 6–10
1st ODI: Dharamsala, June 14, 1:30 PM
2nd ODI: Lucknow, June 17, 1:30 PM
3rd ODI: Chennai, June 20, 1:30 PM

Switching gears for a second, Afghanistan made some noise at the T20 World Cup in India. Led by Rashid Khan, they picked up two wins and two losses in the group stage. That record landed them third in their group, just behind South Africa and New Zealand, which meant they missed out on the Super 8 and had to head home early.
