The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the second Phase schedule of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), confirming the fixtures for the remainder of the league stage. A total of 50 matches will be played between April 13 and May 24, 2026, across 12 venues in India.
As per the schedule, the second phase will include eight double-headers. Afternoon matches will begin at 03:30 PM IST, while evening fixtures are slated for a 07:30 PM IST start, maintaining the league’s standard match timings.
The second phase will get underway with Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on April 13. The venues for this phase have been spread strategically to ensure smooth logistics and crowd engagement across multiple regions.
Earlier, the BCCI had released only the first 20 fixtures of IPL 2026, covering matches up to April 12. This partial schedule was necessitated by the announcement of assembly election dates in key states such as Assam, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, which required coordination with local authorities and security agencies.
Notably, the tournament had begun in Bengaluru, with the opening match of IPL 2026 setting the tone for the season in front of a packed crowd at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
With the complete league-stage schedule now in place, franchises can better plan their travel, training, and squad rotations. The clarity also provides broadcasters and fans with a full roadmap of the tournament as the race to the playoffs intensifies.
