Marsh made 36 runs in 28 balls, including 1 six and 6 fours, before returning to the pavilion. Josh Inglis then came on, but could not add more than 4 runs to the team’s account. However, Cooper (51 runs) managed to score a half-century.
Renshaw hits century for the Aussies
The team suffered its fourth setback at the score of 107. From there Matt Renshaw along with Alex Carey added 72 runs for the fifth wicket, while he played a crucial role in taking the team to a huge score by adding 75 runs for the sixth wicket with Oliver Peake. Carey was out after scoring 27 runs, while Renshaw played an innings of 109 runs in 94 balls with 3 sixes and 7 fours. This was the first century of his ODI career. Oliver contributed 30 runs to the team’s account. From the opposition camp, Newman Nyamhuri took 5 wickets for 62 runs in 9 overs, while Brad Evans took 2 wickets. One wicket went to captain Sikandar Raza.
In reply, Zimbabwe were all out for 235 in 45.1 overs. The team lost Ben Curran (0) for 1 run, after which Brian Bennett (25) shared a 44-run partnership for the second wicket with Innocent Kaia (18). However, after the pair broke, wickets began to fall. The situation worsened, with the score at 62 for four. However, from there Craig Ervine kept the team’s hopes alive by making a partnership of 98 runs for the fifth wicket with captain Sikandar Raza.
But after this pair faded away, the match went out of Zimbabwe’s control. Craig Ervine was out after scoring 59 runs in 60 balls, while Sikandar Raza played an innings of 57 runs. Apart from these, Wessly Madhevere scored 22 runs for the team. From Australia’s side, Nathan Ellis took the maximum 5 wickets for 31 runs, while Spencer Johnson, Xavier Bartlett, Matt Renshaw, Adam Zampa and Cooper Connolly got 1 wicket each.
