The Afghanistan cricket team is fully prepared for the upcoming domestic season. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is set to host the Bangladesh and Zimbabwe cricket teams in October and November. This bilateral and triangular series will feature matches in all three formats of cricket (Test, ODI, and T20). The ACB has confirmed that all matches will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, venues have yet to be announced.

One Test and tri-nation ODI series against Bangladesh

The tour is divided into different phases, starting with the Test match against Bangladesh, which will be played on October 9. The match will be played 6 days after the Asian Games 2026 tournament. After the Test match, a triangular ODI series will be played between Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe from 17 to 23 October. In this, all three teams will play one match each among themselves and the final match will be played between the top 2 teams.

After the end of the triangular ODI series, the Bangladesh team will return home and Afghanistan will face Zimbabwe. The 3-match T20 International series between the two teams will be played between October 27 and November 1. This will be followed by a two-Test series between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. The first Test will be played from November 5th to 9th and the second from November 13th to 17th.

Expressing happiness over the upcoming series, ACB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Naseeb Khan said, “We are extremely happy to confirm this important phase of international cricket for the Afghanistan team.” He further said, “Playing against teams like Bangladesh and Zimbabwe in different formats will give the Afghan players a great competitive experience. This series is going to be entertaining and exciting for the fans as well.”
