AUS vs BAN: Australia has announced its playing XI for the first Test against Bangladesh (AUS vs BAN), starting August 13 in Darwin. Veteran players like Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon have returned to the team. After more than a year, Australia will field its full-strength bowling attack. Meanwhile, Scott Boland, who has been in excellent form, was left out of the final XI.

Josh Hazlewood hasn’t played an international match since October last year, having missed the entire Ashes series due to injury. Cummins, meanwhile, played just one match against England. Nathan Lyon was also ruled out of the Ashes during the same period due to a hamstring injury.

What Cummins said before the test?

After announcing the playing XI against Bangladesh (AUS vs BAN), Pat Cummins said, “I think we were pretty confident we wanted Lyon in the team, so it was just a matter of deciding what the fast bowling combination would be. So we went with Joshi. However, we know Scott Boland’s abilities well. It’s always a tough decision.”

He said, “I think it’s one of those decisions where you can’t say much to Scotty other than there’s a lot of cricket to be played, but he knows his worth and his ability, and I’m sure he’ll be on the field at some point soon.” In addition to Scott Boland, Josh Inglis also missed out on the playing XI. Alex Carey will replace him as wicketkeeper.
