Sai Sudharsan may join Team India in Sri Lanka by weekend
The two-Test series between India and Sri Lanka begins on August 15th. Team India, led by Shubman Gill, arrived in Sri Lanka on Tuesday evening. Although Sai Sudharsan is included in the team, he has not yet been able to travel to Sri Lanka. An update on his whereabouts has now emerged. It has been learned that Sai Sudharsan may travel from India to Sri Lanka on August 8th and will join Team India thereafter.
Sai Sudharsan has been included in Team India’s squad for the India vs. Sri Lanka series by the BCCI, but a condition is attached to his name, clearly stating that Sai will only be able to play if he is fully fit. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Sai has injured his toe. A Cricbuzz report states that Sai Sudharsan is currently at the CoE in Bengaluru, undergoing rehab. Meanwhile, it has been reported that he has resumed his batting practice. It is hoped that he will receive fitness clearance soon.

England’s legendary batsman Jos Buttler has now become the new king of the T20 format. He has now become the leading run-scorer in the T20 format. After achieving this record, Jos Buttler has made a bold prediction about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Buttler has said that Vaibhav could become the leading run-scorer in the T20 format in the future. Buttler believes that Vaibhav has the potential to break his record.
After making the record of scoring the most runs in the T20 format, Jos Buttler spoke to the broadcaster of The Hundred. Buttler said, “It is a very proud moment for me to become the highest run-scorer in T20 cricket, however, one day someone will definitely break this record of mine and perhaps his name will be Sooryavanshi. It is very special for me to top this list of greats by surpassing Pollard.”
Liton Das resume wicketkeeping practice
The Bangladesh team is currently touring Australia for a two-match Test series. Wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Das was later added to the Bangladesh squad for this series . He had been suffering from an injury for some time, but after passing a fitness test, he managed to secure a place in the team. Meanwhile, there’s another piece of good news for Bangladesh: Liton Das has arrived in Australia and has begun wicketkeeping practice.
On August 5th, Liton Das completed a practice session at the DXC Arena without any issues or discomfort. Liton batted in the nets for a considerable amount of time without any problems and then also practiced wicketkeeping. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials, as quoted by Cricbuzz, said they are hopeful of Liton Das’ presence in the three-day practice match against Cricket Australia XI in Darwin from August 6th to 8th.
Mitchell Marsh, Joe Root, Sam Curran and Phil Salt enter SA20 squads
A major announcement has been made ahead of the auction for the fifth season of SA20. All six franchises have released their lists of retained and pre-signed players. This announcement makes it clear that this time the auction will not see much action, as most teams have already retained their key players. Now, only 19 spots will be up for grabs in the auction, scheduled for October 7th.
The biggest news comes from former Australian captain Mitchell Marsh, who will be playing in the SA20 for the first time. Marsh has been signed by three-time champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Pretoria Capitals has also strengthened its squad. England’s explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Phil Salt has returned to the team. The Durban Super Giants have signed star England all-rounder Sam Curran. Meanwhile, MI Cape Town has pre-signed England’s Will Jacks. He previously played for Pretoria Capitals for three seasons.
Shakib Al Hasan’s home attacked with petrol bombs
Former Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan’s ancestral home in Magura was allegedly attacked with bricks and stones by unidentified individuals on Wednesday evening. Parts of the house were damaged. During the attack, unidentified miscreants also allegedly hurled petrol bombs at Shakib’s home. The incident occurred at around 8:45 pm local time at his residence in the Keshab More area of Magura town. Sounds of firecrackers were also heard outside his home. The situation in Bangladesh has remained highly volatile since the fall of the Awami League government.
