53/0 to 103/10
The Los Angeles Knight Riders (AKR) looked set to win their third match of the season when they were on 53/0 in the seventh over in pursuit of 145 set by MI New York (MINY). However, after Comin Munro (20) was run out, LAKR were bundled after managing to add another 50 more runs in the 18th over, succumbing to their first loss of the season.
What a moment for MI New York! 🗽

Romario Shepherd takes a wicket maiden just for Corbin Bosch to follow up with two additional wickets in the next over! #LexusAmazingPlay pic.twitter.com/ysN1ifofqm
Corbin Bosch (3/26) and Noshtush Kenjige (3/21) took matters into their hands and ensured that MINY pulled a rabbit out of the hat, sailing to a 41-run victory. With the bat, things were looking beak for MINY, until Nicholas Pooran decided to play a superb knock. He scored 70 off 58, hitting five sixes and six fours along the way.
More importantly, he built superb partnerships in the end, first with Romario Shepherd, with whom he put on 32 off 24 and then with Corey Anderson, putting on 37 off 26. Thanks to these two stands, MINY were able to get a competitive total on the board.
Hosein’s hat-trick not good enough for TSK
Mitchell Owen played an outstanding knock against Texas Super Kings (TSK) to take Washington Freedom to a nail-biting one-wicket victory off the final ball, in pursuit of 186. His 91-run stand with Steve Smith (30) seemed to have set the tone for Freedom, but then Akeal Hosein (4/36) ensured that TSK remained in the game right till the end.
In fact, with six needed off the last over, Faf du Plessis tossed the ball to Hosein, who got rid of Marco Jansen, Amila Aponso and Asif Mehmood off consecutive deliveries to claim the first-ever hat-trick in Major League Cricket (MLC) history.

However, with five needed off the final delivery, Nikhil Chaudhary, fresh from his T20I debut for Australia, smashed the ball over the deep mid-wicket fence to claim a one-wicket victory. Earlier, Chaudhary had bowled an excellent spell (1/29) to restrict TSK to 185/4. Donovan Ferreira continued his impressive form with an unbeaten 20-ball 44, while Wiaan Mulder to smashed 43 off just 20.
Going into the last over, Washington Freedom only needed 6 runs off 6 balls, but the Texas Super Kings weren’t going to give them up easily.

Sports history is being written here in the Bay Area and tonight’s scribe is the MLC rookie, Nikhil Chaudhary. pic.twitter.com/AKQGGeKYVg
The duo put on an unbeaten 75 off just 31 to help TSK to a healthy total. But in the end, they just fell short despite Hosein’s brilliance with the ball.
