Defending champions Mumbai Indians New York (MINY) got off the mark in the Major Cricket League (MLC) 2026 season with a thumping win over Texas Super Kings (TSK) in Dallas. They claimed an eight-wicket victory thanks to an excellent all-round effort. Corbin Bosch led the way for MINY with 4/28, along with Trent Boult’s 3/18.
With the bat, it was Nicholas Pooran (68* of 46) and Monank Patel (46 off 34), who led New York’s charge and allowed them to register a comfortable win with 14 balls to spare.
Donovan Ferreira led TSK in the absence of regular skipper Faf du Plessis, who was out due to a back spasm.
Bosch and Boult show
After being asked to bat, TSK’s innings did not get off to the best of starts as Trent Boult struck twice in his first two overs to put the opposition on the back foot. A 65-run stand between Milind Kumar (39) and Shubham Ranjane (49) steadied the ship for a while, but after that, it was Bosch who broke the back of the batting line-up to claim a four-wicket haul, which restricted the Super Kings to 158.

In reply, MINY never looked in any trouble. They were 56/1 at the powerplay and from then on, it was the Pooran show as his half-century, which included six fours and three sixes, was good enough to take his side home.
The two teams will clash again next on June 26 in Oakland.
Brief scores:
Texas Super Kings 158 in 19.2 overs (Shubham Ranjane 49, Milind Kumar 39; Corbin Bosch 4/29) lost to MI New York 162/2 in 17.4 overs (Nicholas Pooran 68*, Monank Patel 46; Hardus Viljoen 1/29) by 8 wickets
