Rahul Dravid’s younger son Anvay Dravid selected in Indian Under-19 team for Sri Lanka tour

The Junior Cricket Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India’s Under-19 squad on Thursday (June 11) for the upcoming ODI and multi-day matches against Sri Lanka. Separate 15-member squads have been named for both series. The tour will begin with a three-match ODI series, followed by a two-match multi-day series. Anvay Dravid, the younger son of former Indian player and former head coach Rahul Dravid, has been selected for the ODI squad.

The series kicks off on July 4 with the first ODI, while the final match is scheduled for June 9. The multi-day series will begin on July 13, with the second match starting on June 20. The ODI matches will be held in Hambantota, whereas the first multi-day match will take place in Galle and the second in Colombo.

Yashvardhan Singh Chauhan has been appointed captain for both series, and Lakshya Raichandani has been entrusted with the role of vice-captain. Rajat Baghel and Anvay Dravid have been selected as wicketkeepers for the ODI team, while Manav Krishna and Aryan Sandesh Sakpal have been chosen as wicketkeepers for the multi-day matches. Dravid, 17, notably captained the Karnataka U-19 team to the quarterfinals in the last Vinoo Mankad Trophy in which he aggregated 220 runs in six matches with a highest score of an unbeaten 82.
