IPL 2026: Records broken, milestones achieved as Mumbai Indians beat PBKS

In the 58th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026), Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 6 wickets to register their fourth consecutive win. PBKS, batting first in the match played in Dharamsala, scored 200/8. Prabhsimran Singh scored a half-century (57) for the hosts. In reply, MI achieved the target in 19.5 overs with the help of Tilak Varma’s half-century (75*). Now, take a look at the records created in this clash.

Punjab Kings saw their 5th consecutive defeat

After this defeat on Thursday, Punjab Kings (PBKS) suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in IPL 2026. The Shreyas Iyer-led team displayed some mind-boggling performances and won six of their opening seven matches, with one match ending in a draw. PBKS have not won a single match since and are in dire trouble at the moment.

Prabhsimran Singh scored his 12th half-century in IPL

PBKS wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran scored 57 runs in 32 balls. He hit 6 fours and 4 sixes. His strike rate was 178.12. He added 50 runs in 33 balls for the first wicket with his partner Priyansh Arya. He then shared a 57-run partnership in 35 balls with Cooper Connolly for the third wicket. Prabhsimran also got a life on 5 runs. Naman Dheer dropped his catch off Jasprit Bumrah.

Third four-wicket haul for Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur bowled four overs and took four wickets for 39 runs. His economy rate was 9.80. He dismissed Prabhsimran Singh (57), Shreyas Iyer (4), Suryansh Shedge (8), and Marco Jansen (2). This was his third four-wicket haul of his IPL career and his second against Punjab Kings (PBKS) . In his IPL career, he has taken 117 wickets in 108 innings at an average of 29.68.
