“It’s impossible to stop Vaibhav,” says Gavaskar

Vaibhav Su]ooryavanshi is on fire in IPL 2026. He’s grabbed the Orange Cap, racing past big names like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul. Even Sunil Gavaskar couldn’t help but weigh in — he watched Vaibhav bat on Tuesday and came away genuinely impressed. Gavaskar says no matter how many fielders you park on the boundary, even if there are ten, stopping Vaibhav right now is just not happening.

Gavaskar said, “Every shot Vaibhav hit was absolutely brilliant. And even if you had put 10 fielders on the boundary, it would have been impossible to stop him. Vaibhav was not fazed at all. I think this is an advantage of being so young. At this age, you don’t worry about anything. You don’t look at the opposition.”
