Marcus Stoinis is one of the cleanest hitters in the world. He showed that today (April 28) against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Mullanpur, when he slammed an unbeaten 22-ball 62 to take Punjab Kings (PBKS) to 222/4. He got to his fifty off just 20 deliveries and has finally ended his drought. This is Stonis’ first fifty in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 20 innings.

He last scored a half-century in the IPL in 2024 when he played for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Lucknow. Just two innings before that, he slammed 124* off just 63 deliveries – which is his highest IPL score.
Stoinis in IPL 2026
Stoinis has batted at five in three matches in a row now. Other than this explosive fifty, he scored 10* off 5 against MI, followed by 29 off just 16 against LSG.
Thanks to Stoinis, PBKS managed to score 55 runs off the last three overs to breach the 220-run mark. He put on 37 off 24 with skipper Shreyas Iyer and then added 41 off just 12 with Suryansh Shedge. His knock included four fours and six huge sixes.
The Australian all-rounder started off his career with PBKS in 2016 and initially played three seasons for them. He then turned up for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC) and LSG before he returned to PBKS for INR 11 crore.
PBKS have been excellent this season, and are the only team yet to lose a match. A win tonight will take them to 15 points and within touching distance of assuring themselves of a place in the playoffs.
