Punjab Kings (PBKS) recorded their sixth win in IPL 2026, defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets on Sunday in a record run-chase. Delhi won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 264/2. In reply, Punjab achieved the target of 265/4 in 18.5 overs. This is the highest successful run chase in IPL history.
Delhi’s KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 152, the highest score by an Indian in the IPL. The previous record was held by Abhishek Sharma, who scored 141 runs against Punjab last season. KL Rahul and Nitish Rana shared a 220-run partnership, the second-highest in IPL history. The first place is held by Kohli and AB de Villiers, who shared a 229-run partnership in IPL 2016. Nitish Rana was dismissed for 91 off 44, hitting 11 fours and four sixes. In this clash, Rana reached a special milestone as he reached his 70th run of the innings. He completed 3,000 runs in the IPL, becoming the 30th player to achieve this feat. He has scored the most runs (432) against DC.
Second-highest score by a wicketkeeper in IPL
The highest individual score by a wicketkeeper in IPL history is 158, scored by Brendon McCullum for Kolkata Knight Riders in the very first match of the tournament in 2008. On Saturday, KL Rahul scored 152* against PBKS, making it the second-highest score by a wicketkeeper in IPL history.
