Punjab Kings (PBKS) were inches away from claiming their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title least year, but a determined Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) denied them. However, they will look to go all the way this time around with renewed energy and hunger.
With the camp underway ahead of the new season, PBKS head coach Ricky Ponting has urged his players to stick to their game plan and not to get deterred by mistakes.
“We all make mistakes. That’s fine. I will make mistakes on the way through this. You will all make mistakes, you’ll drop a catch, you’ll play bad shots, you’ll bowl a bad over. But as long as you are sticking to what you know and what your game plan is, if you make a mistake, doing that in my eyes is not a mistake. It’s just what happens in the game, it’s a part of the game,” he said.
PBKS get their IPL 2026 campaign underway against Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 31 in Mullanpur. Barring Lockie Ferguson, all the players will be available right from the start. The New Zealand pacer will miss the initial stages of the tournament due to personal reasons.
