Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RC) batter Swastik Chikara was at his menacing best as he smashed 195* off just 69 deliveries at a strike rate of 282.60 in the Ayodhya Premier League on March 22 (Sunday). The 20-year-old smashed 22 fours and 11 sixes during his knock for Gomti Thunder, as his side finished with a massive 307 against Hindon Titans.
He was 27 runs short of his double century when he got strike with five balls remaining in the innings. Chikara went 6,6,4,0 and 6 to end one of the most destructive T20 innings in recent times. The batter was part of the RCB squad that won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title last year, but did not get a chance to play a single game.
He shot to limelight after a breakthrough season in the UPT20 League, where he smashed nearly 500 runs at a strike rate of 186 in 2024. He got a chance to play for Uttar Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy after that and was soon snapped up by RCB. However, he was released ahead of the 2026 auction.
