BCCI announces schedule for India’s T20I series against Ireland

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on March 21 (Saturday), announced the schedule for the T20 International (T20I) series against Ireland. The two-match series will be played between June 26 and 28 in Belfast. India will then travel to England, where they will play five T20Is and three One-Day Internationals (ODI) against the hosts from July 1 onwards.

This will be India’s fourth tour of Ireland in the last eight years, having previously toured the country in 2018, 2022 and 2023. However, the Men in Blue will return to Belfast for the first time since 2007, as the Crichub had reported on March 19 (Thursday).

The series against Ireland will be played after India host Afghanistan for one Test and three ODIs from June 6 to June 20. Ireland will be under a new captain with Paul Stirling stepping down from the role recently. Wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker, who was Stirling’s deputy at the T20 World Cup 2026, is the favourite for the role, with Harry Tector also considered as an alternate option.

Ireland won just one of their four matches at the T20 World Cup 2026, which came against Oman in Colombo. They were comprehensively beaten by Sri Lanka and Australia, while their game against Zimbabwe was abandoned.

India and Ireland have faced each other eight times in T20Is, with India coming out on top on each occasion. The most recent game was played at the T20 World Cup 2024 in New York, which India won by eight wickets.

India tour of Ireland schedule:

1st T20I – June 26, Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast

2nd T20I – June 28, Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast
