Tests against India, Australia headline South Africa Women’s home summer

South Africa Women will host India Women in a one-off Test on December 20, 2026, at St George’s Park, Gqeberha Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced on March 20 (Friday). The tour will also consist of three ODIs, which will be a part of the ICC Women’s Championship (IWC), starting December 9. The three ODIs will be played in Potchefstroom, Bloemfontein and Cape Town, respectively.

India’s tour will be followed by Australia Women’s historic maiden tour of South Africa, where they will play three T20Is, three ODIs, and a Test, starting March 18, 2027. The Test is scheduled to be played from April 8 onwards. The tour will begin with the three-match T20I series from March 18, followed by the ODIs from March 27.

“We are delighted to host two of the world’s leading teams in India and Australia for what promises to be a blockbuster home summer for the Proteas Women. These tours will showcase the very best of international women’s cricket and build on the encouraging rise in fan attendance, as we continue to welcome growing crowds across the country to watch world-class players competing at some of our iconic venues,”CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki said.

“It is also exciting to host two Test matches on home soil during the season. Test cricket remains a special and historic format of the game, and providing our Proteas Women with opportunities to compete in red-ball cricket at home is an important step in the continued recognition of the women’s game in South Africa.

“We are also pleased to see the annual Black Day ODI continue to grow, with the sixth edition taking place at the Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium. The match remains an important platform to raise awareness in the fight against GBV.”

South Africa Women are currently in the middle of a T20I series against New Zealand Women. Hosts New Zealand currently lead the five-match series 2-1. The Proteas Women reached the T20 and ODI World Cup finals in 2024 and 2025, respectively, but failed to win the title on both occasions.
