BAN vs PAK: Bangladesh beat Pakistan by 11 runs to seal ODI series 2–1

Bangladesh pulled off an 11-run win over Pakistan in the third ODI (BAN vs PAK), sealing the series 2-1. Salman Agha smashed a century and Shaheen Afridi kept fighting till the very end, but Pakistan still couldn’t get over the line.

The match took place in Dhaka on Sunday where Bangladesh got things started by posting 290 on the board. Pakistan chased hard but finished at 279 after 50 overs.

Bangladesh has now beaten Pakistan seven times in ODI history. This time, Tanzid Hasan grabbed the spotlight with his first ODI hundred, scoring 107. Tauheed Hridoy chipped in too, finishing unbeaten on 48 from 44 balls, which helped Bangladesh reach their decent total.

Pakistan’s chase got off to a nightmare start as they lost three wickets for just 17 runs. Things didn’t improve, as players like Farhan and Rizwan both fell cheaply, leaving Pakistan at 82 for five.

Then Salman Agha and Saad Masood steadied things with a 79-run stand. Salman had more answers, adding 48 with Faheem Ashraf and another 52 with Shaheen Afridi. It looked like Pakistan’s hopes were alive right up until Salman Agha got out for 106 in the 48th over.

At that point, Pakistan still needed 28 runs from the last two overs. Afridi looked dangerous, smashing a couple of sixes early on. But Mustafizur Rahman came back strong removing Haris Rauf on the last ball of the over. The final over belonged to Rishad Hussain, who kept Afridi quiet and sealed Bangladesh’s win.

Bangladesh- 290/5 in 50 overs (Tanzid Hasan Tamim 107, Towhid Hridoy 48*; Haris Rauf 3-52) beat Pakistan- 279 all-out in 50 overs (Salman Agha 106; Taskin Ahmed 4-49, Mustafizur Rahman 3-54) by 11 runs.
