The Mumbai Cricket Association has just announced the women’s edition of the T20 Mumbai League after building on three strong seasons with the men’s tournament. Rohit Sharma, who’s the face of the league, unveiled the trophies for both the men’s and women’s tournaments at an event in Mumbai on Saturday.
Rohit sounded genuinely happy about how Mumbai cricket keeps raising the bar. He pointed out that it’s not just the IPL team that’s growing. This local league has opened new doors for a lot of young players, letting them get noticed, move up to the IPL and even represent India. He said the league’s really become a proving ground for local talent.
He also talked about how great it is to see the tournament return after last season’s success. Having been right in the thick of things last year, Rohit admitted that putting this event together takes a massive team effort, and he made sure to credit everyone at the Mumbai Cricket Association for pulling it off.

Sayali Satghare, the Indian all-rounder, was genuinely excited about the new women’s edition. She talked about how much it matters to finally have a space just for women cricketers. She said, “The T20 Mumbai Women’s League will give many young girls the opportunity to dream bigger, compete at a high level and believe that they too can represent Mumbai and India one day.”
This time around, things get even bigger with three women’s teams joining the action. That’s a huge step forward for women’s cricket in Mumbai, giving more female players a shot to shine and will give many young girls the opportunity to dream bigger, compete at a high level.
The official schedule isn’t out yet. Last year’s edition happened right after the IPL in June and the men’s T20 Mumbai League saw big names like Rohit Sharma, Shivam Dube, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav take the field.
