ICC T20I Rankings: The International Cricket Council announced its latest rankings and India’s Ishan Kishan is now the world’s second-best batter. That’s the highest he’s ever climbed. He jumped up two spots, thanks to a strong showing at the recent T20 World Cup. Sanju Samson also moved up in the batting charts. Both these players really stood out with the bat for India in the recently concluded T20 World Cup.

The left-hander Kishan made it into second place with 871 points, just behind Abhishek Sharma, who leads with 875. Kishan racked up 317 runs from nine innings, averaging 35.22 with a crazy strike rate of 193.29. He hammered three fifties. The best was 77 and blasted 18 sixes and 33 fours. India’s Tilak Varma sits at seventh, while Suryakumar Yadav rounds out the top 10 at ninth.
Samson made a big leap too. He jumped 18 spots and now sits at 22nd with 637 points. He scored 89 runs in the final against New Zealand and finished the tournament with 321 runs in just five innings. That’s an average of 80.25 and a strike rate of almost 200. He notched up three half-centuries, including a top score of 97 not out.
On the bowling side, Varun Chakravarthy slipped one spot and is now ranked second among bowlers with 740 points. He grabbed a wicket in each of his last five World Cup matches, though he was a bit expensive at times. Still, he ended up with 14 wickets in the tournament. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is now the top bowler with 753 points.

For the all-rounders, Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza leads with 328 points, while India’s Hardik Pandya is close behind at 299 with both hitting their career-best marks. New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner also climbed, now ranked ninth after jumping three places. The Kiwis, for what it’s worth, finished as runners-up in the T20 World Cup.
